Slot (plural: slots) is a term used in computer technology to describe an operating system’s interface to hardware devices. The concept is similar to the physical slot in a machine that accepts coins or paper tickets for the purchase of goods and services. In the case of modern PCs, a slot is typically an expansion slot that supports different types of peripherals and allows them to be connected to the motherboard. It may also refer to the memory slots or PC Card slots that allow PC Cards to be inserted into the computer.<\/p>\n
Unlike many other forms of gambling, slot machines offer rapid and explicit feedback on winnings or losses.
